Turkish-Style Lamb Pizza

Enjoy Fast food at home with this Turkish style lamb pizza using easy store bought flatbread, lamb mince, fresh herbs and lots of flavor.

For the toppings
 500 g Lamb Mince
 2 Spring onion chopped
 1 Small Onion finely chopped
 4 Garlic cloves finely chopped
 Fresh Thyme
 Fresh Coriander
 Fresh Parsley
 Fresh Mint
 1 tsp Onion Powder
 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
 ½ tsp Cumin
 1 tsp Smoked paprika
 1 tsp Cinnamon
 ½ tsp Black Pepper
 2 tsp Za'atar Seasoning
For the Sauce
 6 Mint leaves
 Handful fresh parsley
 Handful fresh coriander
 ½ Onion minced
 ¼ Red bell pepper
 ¼ Orange or green bell pepper
 2 tsp vegetable oil
 2 tbsp butter
 2 tbsp tomato paste
For the Base
 2 Medium Sized Flat breads
Toppings
 Feta Cheese
 Fresh Parsley
How to season the lamb mince

Firstly, Finely chop onion, garlic and fresh herbs. Heat a large sauce pan on medium to high heat then add 1 or 2 tsp of oil.

Secondly, saute, Onion, Garlic and herbs until onions are soft. Remove from the pan and rest to the side while placing the lamb mince to the same pan. Cook the lamb for 10 - 15 minutes until the liquid has evaporated.

Lastly, add in the seasonings and break up any large clumps of lamb until you get crumbles then return the onion mixture back to the pan. When all has combined remove from the heat and rest to the side.

Now prepare your sauce.

How to Make the Base Sauce

First, Mince the onion and bell peppers until very fine.

Next, heat your desired pan then add the oil. Once the oil is hot saute the onion and peppers until soft then toss in the fresh herbs and butter.

Last, incorporate the tomato paste and mix together until it creates a paste texture. Remove from heat and allow to rest for 5 minutes before assembling the pizza.

How to Assemble and bake Lahmuchan

Start by spreading the tomato paste onto the flatbread then heavily sprinkle the lamb mince across the entire base. Top with feta cheese crumbles then bake in the oven at 240C/450F until cheese turns a slightly golden color and flatbread is crisp.

Finish with a sprinkle of fresh mint and parsley and a drizzle of good olive oil. This recipe makes 2 medium sized flatbreads.
