Crispy Teriyaki Turkey

This is a super quick and easy way to enjoy Chinese takeaway right at home with Turkey fried crisp and coated in homemade teriyaki sauce.

Crispy Teriyaki Turkey

For the Crispy Turkey
 500 g Turkey Steaks or Breast
 ¼ cup Soy Sauce (32g)
 2 tsp All purpose seasoning
 ¾ cup Corn Flour or more if needed (96g)
 1 tsp Baking Soda
 2 cups Frying OIl (448g)
For the Teriyaki Sauce
 5 Garlic Cloves
 3 Inch Fresh Ginger
 1 cup Soy Sauce (255g)
  cup Rice wine vinegar (76g)
 ¼ cup Brown Sugar (50g)
 2 tsp Corn Flour or more if needed
 1 tbsp Water
 2 tsp Vegetable Oil
 2 Spring onions sliced
 2 tsp Sesame seeds
Cooking the Turkey

First, Wash Turkey in lemon, vinegar and water then rinse and pat dry.

Slice the turkey into strips then add 1/4 cup of soy sauce and 2 tsp of all purpose seasoning. Place into a sealed container and marinate overnight (overnight for best results).

Second, Heat a large cast iron or fry pan on medium high heat and add 2 Cups (448g) of vegetable or desired frying oil.

Meanwhile, coat the marinated turkey strips in the corn flour and baking soda ensuring each piece is completely covered.

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the turkey pieces into the pan and cook until golden brown on all sides, then remove and place on a drain rack or paper towel.

Making the Sauce

Third, Mince Garlic cloves and Peeled Ginger root either by hand or in a food processor.

Heat a medium sized pan and add a splash of oil. Saute the minced garlic and ginger then pour in soy sauce, rice wine vinegar and brown sugar. Mix corn flour with water until it dissolves then add it to the sauce. Stir until combined.

Last, once the sauce thickens toss in the crispy turkey pieces and coat well. Finish with fresh spring onion and Sesame seeds.
