Homemade Roti Pizza with Spicy Sausage and Feta
Bringing the best of both worlds to your table with this homemade pizza made with roti dough topped with spicy sausage, feta cheese and fresh veggie and herbs.

When most people think of Roti they see thin flaky sheets of oiled goodness filled with all sorts of curry’s. But there is also a thicker Roti Dough that make a great pizza crust.
Roti Pizza Dough
Jamaican style roti is different from Trini and Guyanese style roti that most of us know. It is more like Naan or flatbread so its perfect for pizza making.
To Note, this dough is great for last minute meals and for those who don’t like to mess with yeast products. with this dough there is no need to rest it overnight, just make and create!
Completely Homemade
This recipe is completely homemade from the dough to the sauce, however if time is not of the essence or you simply aren’t into this amount of work store bought sauce and toppings is a great option as well. I personally just like to utilize whats in the kitchen already and love being a little extra lol.

How to make Roti into Pizza dough
There’s no reinventing the wheel, but here are a few things to mention:
- Adding extra baking powder creates that puff you would get with classic pizza dough.
- This will be a more dense and filling dough so if your into a thinner crust I suggest making the dough as thin as you can (for pizza).
- Once you have rolled out the dough, turn the edges towards the middle to create a nice rim. This will make the dough ready for the fillings.
- This is optional but i like to add a little oil to the dough before adding the toppings. it keeps the dough moist (in my opinion).
Get Versatile
There’s so many options to make besides pizza. Reuse this recipe to make Calzone’s or stuffed pizza style balls. Make and freeze mini pizzas for those quick and easy lunch meals or for the kids.
Storing and Freezing
To freeze for later, assemble the pizzas then wrap firmly in cling film a few times and place in a ziplocked bag. These should store well for up to 1 month just fine.
